Women getting plastic surgery to 'cure' RBF

Women are reported to be turning to plastic surgery in a bid to get rid of an unwanted facial expression.

Some women are said to be trying to banish Resting Bitch Face (RBF) by having botox and fillers injected under their skin.

The expression is said to make people look angry or irritate when their face is relaxed - which some people embrace as it wards off unwanted attention.

But those who don't want to accidentally appear unapproachable are turning to surgery, according to The Mirror .

Dr David Shafer, a certified plastic surgeon from Shafer Plastic Surgery & Laser Center in New York told the  New York Post : "This is actually a common request from patients - I get several each week.

"They may not always use the words 'resting bitch face' but if I mention RBF, they say 'exactly'."

Doctors inject fillers and botox into the face to make it look fuller, softer and happier.

Injections over 10 to 20 minutes target the sides of the mouth, the skin between the eyebrows and underneath the lips.

The procedure can cost anything from hundreds to thousands of pounds and last for two years.
