Thailand remained the most successful nation in golf at the SEA Games despite missing out on their gold medal sweep.
The women's stars yesterday claimed the third gold for Thailand after winning the match-play team event at the Mines Resort and Golf Club.
However, their men's counterparts were unable to complete the title sweep and had to settle for silver after losing in a play-off in the final to Singapore.
Thailand finished as overall champions for the sixth straight Games after winning three gold medals, two silver and a bronze in Malaysia.
The Kingdom won all four golds at the Singapore Games two years ago.
Atthaya Thitikul and Thitapa Pakdeesettakul won their respective matches against the Indonesian team in the final of the women's team event.
Teen prodigy Atthaya cruised to a 6 and 5 win against Tatiana Jaqueline Wijaya, while Thitapa edged Ida Ayu Melati Putri 2 and 1.
Hosts Malaysia beat the Philippines 2-1 to claim the bronze medal.
Atthaya also won the individual title on Wednesday.
Men's individual winner Kosuke Hamamoto was unable to match Atthaya's golden double after his team lost to Singapore in a play-off.
Both teams were tied 1.5-1.5 in regulation.
Marc Ong beat Kammalas Namuangruk on the third play-off hole to hand Singapore the gold medal.
Wichayanon Chothirunrungrueng gave Thailand a great start with a 4 and 2 victory over Joshua Shou. Hamamoto then lost to Gregory Foo 1-down, while Kammalas and Marc Ong halved their match.
Indonesia captured the bronze medal with a 2-1 victory over the Philippines.
Rangsrid Luxitanonda, president of the Thailand Golf Association, congratulated the team on "winning three gold medals, two silvers and a bronze".
"Unfortunately we didn't win after losing in a play-off in the men's event," he added.
"The players did their best and we all know anything can happen in a play-off."
