Women can control video games with their vagina and boost sex lives as they play

It’s an issue that affects more than one billion women around the world, but pelvic floor disorders could soon be much easier to manage, thanks to a new Kegel exerciser.

The device, called Perifit, is placed in the vagina, and lets women control video games with their pelvic floors.

For example, one game requires players to navigate a bird up and down on the screen by contracting and relaxing their pelvic floor.

On its website, Perifit explained: “Our Perifit exercises are a series of fun smartphone games that you play by utilising your pelvic floor muscles. Every level is carefully designed by world-class specialists in pelvic floor disorders.”

The silicone device is just 26mm wide, and is designed to fit all body types, according to the designers.

It syncs up to a smartphone app, where users can access a range of exercises and track their progress.

Over time, the device analyses the user’s pelvic floor performance against five key metrics - strength, endurance, frequency, release and accuracy.

Based on these readings, a virtual coach on the app will suggest new exercises and games.

Perifit said: “We recommend to train at least 30 minutes a week. You can train only once a week or train 5 minutes a day, it's up to you!”

According to the NHS, pelvic floor exercises can not only stop incontinence and treat prolapse, but also make sex better.

It explained: “Strong pelvic floor muscles can also mean increased sensitivity during sex and stronger orgasms for women.”
