Two women have been arrested after a doorman was allegedly kicked in the face and racially abused during shameful scenes outside Liverpool's Peaky Blinders bar.
Yesterday we revealed how police had launched a probe into reports a group of women allegedly made vile remarks to one of the doormen outside of the TV-show themed bar in the Baltic Triangle.
It's reported that at around 5.15pm on Bank Holiday Sunday the group were leaving the Cains Brewery Village bar and were causing a disturbance.
A "racially aggravated comment" was then reportedly directed at one of the male bouncers.
Police said after the group were told to leave, another racially offensive comment was made and one of the women kicked the doorman in his stomach and face.
Detectives investigating the reported hate crime called it "unacceptable".
Now police have confirmed they have arrested two female suspects over the sickening incident.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "We have arrested two women in connection with a reported hate crime in Peaky Blinders Bar on Sunday, 2 May.
"A 24-year-old woman from Liverpool has been arrested on suspicion of Section 34 assault.
