The police later took her to Panaji police station, from where she was taken to Goa Medical College (GMC) and Hospital for a medical checkup.
GMC doctors referred her to the Institute of Psychiatry and Human Behaviour (IPHB), Bambolim, for treatment. Police then produced the woman before a judicial magistrate first class in Panaji, and after obtaining an order, she was admitted to the IPHP.
Later, during counselling, the woman disclosed to the doctor that she was raped by around six person in Calangute. After this disclosure, a medical examination was immediately conducted at GMC. Police registered the rape case based on the doctor’s statement.
