A woman with a child sat in the back of her car was arrested after reportedly being found to be almost three and a half times the drink drive limit. The 48-year-old was pulled over by police in Whitworth, near Rochdale, on Thursday night.
She then allegedly failed a roadside breath test and was taken into custody. The child, whose age hasn't been disclosed, was taken home by police.

The incident took place on Market Street at about 9.20pm. In a statement on Facebook Insp Chris Valentine said: "There can never be any excuse for drink driving regardless of what time of year it is.
"Placing a child in danger by not being in proper control of a vehicle is also irresponsible. It's also important to consider what other duties officers could be dealing with instead of having to deal with people who place themselves in situations that are avoidable.
"We're often criticised for not having enough patrols but sometimes it's due to situations like this where one patrol is in custody and one had take the children home. That's two units that could have been patrolling our borders with GMP looking for criminals or responding to emergency calls."
