Woman who urinated on potatoes at supermarket hands herself in to police

A woman who was caught urinating on potatoes at a grocery store has turned herself in to the police.

Grace Brown, 20, handed herself into authorities at the West Mifflin Police station on Tuesday afternoon, almost a week after she was identified as the suspect behind the bizarre act.

At around 10 am on July 24, the young woman was captured on CCTV urinating near a bin of potatoes at a Walmart store in Pennsylvania.

The West Mifflin Police Department released CCTV images of the suspect on social media, appealing for anyone with information on the incident.

Last Wednesday, a Walmart employee noticed urine on the floor near the aisle of potatoes and notified the police.

Officers responded to a "criminal mischief report" at around 8.40am the following day, and soon identified the suspect as Grace Brown and got in contact with her.

However, she ended up walking into the police station on Tuesday along with her attorney to turn herself in as the culprit behind the horrific act.

Brown's attorney, Casey White, told local media on Tuesday: "She's a high-school graduate. She's working to make her life better."

Brown was charged with open lewdness, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness, according to a police statement.

The US Attorney’s Western Pennsylvania Office has also been informed of the incident.

A spokesperson for Walmart told Fox News: "The safety of our customers is a top priority for us.

"This type of obscene conduct is outrageous, and we immediately disposed of the affected products and sanitized the area to ensure its cleanliness and safety for our customers.

"We're working with the West Mifflin Police Department to find the responsible party and have them prosecuted."

Shoppers responded to the bizarre incident, lashing out at Brown for being "sick" and saying she "has problems".

One customer told local news station KDKA: "That's really gross. Why do it? She must be ill or something."

The sickening act comes just weeks after a bizarre "ice cream challenge" took social media by storm.

Several youths were caught opening brand new ice cream tubs in stores, licking its contents before putting the goods back on shelves for unsuspecting customers.

Last month, police identified a young woman licking a Blue Bell Ice Cream tub at a Walmart store in Lufin, Texas.

The video which was shared on Twitter captioned, "What kind of psychotic behavior is this?", has gained over 10.5 million views and garnered furious reactions from users.

Blue Bell has since removed all tubs that contained the specific vanilla ice cream flavour with swirls of chocolate fudge and chocolate-covered peanuts at the Walmart store as a safety precaution.
