Woman who took part in violent attack warned she could be jailed after breach

A woman who was involved in an attack that left a man with serious injuries has been warned she could be jailed if she breaches an order once again.

Kimberley Louis Latcham took part in an attack that left a man with a fractured collar bone and a deep gash above his eye that required stitches.

The violent incident, which happened in Willington, County Durham on December 8, 2019, resulted in Latcham receiving a two year community order in June, this year.

The 27-year-old, who was sentenced for affray, was also ordered to carry out 15 rehabilitation days.

But on Tuesday, Latcham was hauled back in front of a judge at Durham Crown Court after breaching her order by not attending an appointment.

Prosecutor, Camilla Buck told the court that the order was breached on August 19, when Latcham failed to attend an appointment and didn't make any contact.

She was subsequently sent a warning letter, the court heard.

Latcham, who was not represented at the hearing, told the court the reason for the appointment no-show was because she "went off the rails" following a family matter.

"I went off the rails...I chose to drink and went the wrong way about things", she said.

"I realised I needed to sort myself out again."

The court was told Latcham, of Wells Grove, Willington, had seven previous convictions for 11 offences.

Sentencing her, Judge Ray Singh said that he would allow her order to continue, but warned her that a further breach could result in her being sent to prison for up to nine-months.

He made her subject of a three-week electronic curfew between the hours of 9pm and 6am.
