We’ve never been in that position ourselves, but we can imagine trying to flee police for several hours is tiring work.

Which is perhaps why this one particular pursuit ended in, of all places, the drive-thru of a McDonald’s.

According to reports, suspect Johanna Gardell, a 38-year-old from Massachusetts, who was being sought by police over a stolen vehicle, was finally located at the fast food chain after evading arrest for several hours.

Police had apparently twice called off the chase due to safety concerns but later located her at McDonald’s, thanks to the vehicle’s GPS tracking device.

“She was ordering chicken nuggets and they actually held her up,” Raymond James Simoncini, the owner of the stolen truck was reported by Boston.com as saying. “The officers called ahead to hold her and slow down the line.”

Police had been called after reports of a stolen vehicle.

During the chase, the suspect allegedly ran red lights, rammed into several other vehicles, including police vehicles, and drove in the wrong direction. A police officer was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

When she was spotted at McDonald’s, Gardell apparently tried to flee but ended up in a flower bed.

Gardell now faces 15 charges, including assault and battery, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage, and resisting arrest.

The Worcester District Attorney’s office said Gardell is pleading not guilty and will appear in court next Tuesday, July 13.

She is being held without bail.
