Woman who gets 'death stares' for wearing sexy dresses in Tesco says 'I won't change'

A glamorous mum who often wears sexy dresses while shopping at Tesco has hit out at shoppers who give her "death stares".

RaeKay Bennett, a single mum to son Luca, became a mum last October and says she refuses to change her style just because of parenthood.

The 24-year-old recently took to TikTok, wearing a short, figure-hugging black dress, gold earrings and bright red lipstick, to reveal that fellow customers regularly "shoot daggers" at her in store as a result of her choice of outfit, Wales Online reports.

"Me walking round Tesco on my weekly shop, dressed like this, pushing my baby, getting death stares off the ‘can I speak to the manager’ hair cut women," she said.

"Oh bore off ini," RaeKay wrote in the caption, before bemoaning the assumption that once you've had a child you must suddenly dress like 'a mum'.

RaeKay, from Neath, Wales, has received dozens of messages of support from people on social media.

"People expect you to stop being you once you have a baby. Keep doing you! Stunning," one said.

To which RaeKay replied: "I totally agree!!! Suddenly you must dress like ‘a mum’ ty gorge xx."

Another added: "I wore a dress the other day and got out of my car to put the pram up and you’d swear people have never seen a woman with baby wear a dress."

RaeKay responded: "PREACH it’s like they want to see you in denim overalls crying instead."

A third asked: "Why can't we normalise looking hot in shops in pretty dresses?"

In a previous interview RaeKay described her online audience as "imaginary friends that I feel really connected to".

"When you're younger there is such pressure to fit in, so if you see someone on the internet completely being themselves it could make others feel okay to do the same," she said.
