A woman desperate for a burger drove 100 miles to get a McDonald's meal at the weekend, police confirmed.
North Yorkshire Police issued a £200 fixed penalty notice to the motorist, in her 30s, on Saturday after she drove from Lincolnshire to Scarborough with her sister for the burger meal.
Chief Inspector Rachel Wood, from North Yorkshire Police, said: "Driving through three counties to get a burger is not classed as essential travel.
"Most people in North Yorkshire are trying really hard to stop the spread of Covid in our communities and protect the vulnerable.
"When this pandemic is over, we know everyone's looking forward to going where they want, when they want.

"But, in the meantime, I'd like to say thank you to everyone who continues to stay home, protect the NHS and save lives."
Yesterday police in Derbyshire withdrew fixed penalty notices they issued to two best friends who drove five miles to go for a socially distanced walk.
Best friends Jessica Allen and her friend Eliza Moore were flanked by officers as they drove into the entrance of Foremark Reservoir in South Derbyshire last Wednesday.
The pair assumed that having travelled to a quiet open space they were within the rules to stay local.
Chief constable Rachel Swann said: "Two fixed penalty notices that were handed to two women who had travelled to Foremark Reservoir on Thursday have been withdrawn and we have notified the women directly, apologising for any concern caused.
"I support the fact that the officers were trying to encourage people to stay local to prevent the spread of the virus. This is a responsibility for all of us."
Chief constable Swann added: "At present there is no clear limit as to how far people can travel to exercise, but Government guidance strongly requests people do not leave their local area."
