Woman stabbed to death on her doorstep was 'loving' mum-of-four' as police hunt killer

The family of a mum-of-four who died on her doorstep have paid tribute to a 'loving, caring and dedicated mother' as detectives hunt for her killer.

Marina Shaban, 41, was fatally injured at the entrance of her Bordesley Green home shortly after 7pm on Friday.

Tragically medics were unable to save her life and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Today, her grieving mother paid tribute to her daughter and urged anyone with information to come forward, Birmingham Live reports.

Marina's mother said: “A loving, caring and dedicated mother with a fantastic personality and real zest for life was tragically taken from us before her time".

She continued: “She leaves behind four children and a huge family who loved, admired and cared for her deeply.

“The entire family are absolutely devastated by her death and ask that we are given space to grieve, however, urge anyone with information to please come forward.”

A forensic post mortem examination is due to take place tomorrow (31 January) to establish a cause of death.

Police are reviewing CCTV and talking to witnesses but continue to appeal for any information or anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area to come forward as the murder probe enters its second day.

Inspector Harjit Ubhi, from West Midlands Police, said: “This is truly a tragic incident and my heart goes out to Marina’s family, who are being supported by specialist officers.”
