Woman who died in car crash in Scottish town named by police

A WOMAN who died following a fatal car crash in Airdrie has been named as Maureen Dunn. 

Police were called to a report of a collision involving a black Audi A4 and a blue BMW M2 on the A89, Clark Street, near the junction with Springwells Avenue at around 6.45pm on Saturday, June 28. 

Dunn, 64, was the passenger in the Audi was taken to University Hospital Wishaw where she died on Friday, July 4. 

The driver of the Audi, a 67-year-old man was taken to University Hospital Monklands and was later discharged.  

The occupants of the BMW were assessed by paramedics at the scene.  

Police said inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident.  

Road Policing Sergeant Ross Allison said: “Our thoughts remain with Maureen’s family and friends at this very difficult time. 

“Our enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this incident. I’d like to thank everyone who has provided information so far and ask anyone else who saw what happened or has dash-cam footage to come forward.”
