Woman who died following disturbance in Scottish city named by police

A WOMAN who died following a disturbance in Inverness has been named as Miriam MacDonald. 

Police were called to a report of a disturbance in the Craigton Avenue area of the city on Sunday at around 7:30pm. 

Police said MacDonald and a 55-year-old man were both taken to Raigmore Hospital with serious injuries. 

Officers said MacDonald died the following day, while the man remains in hospital.  

Police said MacDonald’s family has asked for privacy as they come to terms with her death.  

A 30-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with MacDonald’s death. 

He appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
