An elderly woman who died in hospital after being hit by a lorry has been named as Italian born Felletta Oxlade. An inquest into her death on the afternoon of October 28 in Wardle opened at Rochdale Coroner's Court this morning (November 15).
The 92-year-old, from Fossombrone in central Italy, was struck by a HGV as she crossed Halifax Road at around 3.50pm on October 28. Senior police coroners officer, Paul Lever, told the court that Ms Oxlade, of Ryefileds in Rochdale, was taken to the Royal Oldham Hospital from the scene but she sadly died shortly after arriving.
He gave her cause of death as 'multiple injuries'. Coroner Catherine McKenna set an initial date for the inquest to take place for March 3 next year.
Ms McKenna requested a full pathologists report from Dr Jamie Robertson for this. She also requested a serious collision investigation file from Greater Manchester Police.
"I can't set a date until I have the file from the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) but I am hopeful to get that by March 2023," Ms McKenna said. The inquest was adjourned until that time.
