Woman who climbed into lion’s den at zoo and waved at animal is identified

A woman who climbed into a lion's den at a New York zoo has been identified after posting a video of her reckless feat on Instagram.

Myah Autry, 32, shared a clip of herself jumping into the Bronx Zoo enclosure in front of shocked onlookers on social media, reports say.

She captioned her social media post 'I really have no fear of nothing breathing. Animals can feel love just like humans'.

In a video of her approaching the lions, a man can be heard repeatedly saying 'you're not supposed to do that', to which she answers 'I want to get closer to him, I'm sorry'.

The man then tells her 'go ahead and fall in there and see what happens' as she climbs over the fence into the den.

The footage shows her waving at one of the lions as the beast stands just metres away, staring directly at her.

In the clip, a passerby urges the man she previously spoke to get her back to safety, however he responds 'I've told her, she don't listen to me'.

The bizarre caption accompanying her Instagram post says: "It's funny because you can hear grown men scared smh (shaking my head).

"The only people wasn’t scared was me and the chidren. All the adults was scared.

"Everybody lions until they meet them in the flesh.

Autry reportedly posted the video on her Instagram page (Instagram)

"Let’s just say the lions & the children and kids that witnessed 'Queen Empress Myáh Lareé Israelite' go in with the lions and made it out alive.

"I’m from Brownsville I never ran and I never will unless I'm getting in shape."

Police told the New York Post they are searching for the woman involved to fine her for trespassing.

The caption on the Instagram video mocked men at the zoo for being too scared to enter the enclosure (Instagram)

Her ex-housemate Eunice Walton told the newspaper: "When I saw the video of the woman walking towards the lion, I said, ‘Why do people do this? People are crazy.’

"And then (Wednesday) morning I found out it was her and I was like, ‘What? Myah?’"

Autry also posted a picture on her Instagram showing the dead rapper Tupac Shakur facing a lion.
