Woman wearing 'Merry Xmas' t-shirt wanted in connection with theft of Christmas presents from teenage girl

Woman wanted in connection with theft of teenager's Christmas presents ( Greater Manchester Police )

A woman wearing a "Merry Xmas" t-shirt is wanted for questioning in connection with the theft of Christmas presents worth more than £100 from a 14-year-old girl.

Police have released an image of the woman they believe may have important information about the incident.

The girl, who had bought the gifts for her family, was in a McDonald’s in Stockport at about 3.35pm on 24 November.

When leaving the restaurant, she forgot to take the bag containing the presents. When she returned, she realised they had been stolen.

Constable Carl Johnson, of Greater Manchester Police’s Stockport division, said: “This young girl had spent more than £100 of her money on presents for her family.

“When relaxing with friends afterwards, some opportunist thief has seen fit to steal the gifts that she had thoughtfully selected.

“We’re appealing for anyone who knows the person pictured, or has any information on this crime, to contact police immediately.”

Anyone with information should call police on 0161 856 5902 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
