Woman was taken to hospital with minor injuries after crash in Eastwood

A woman was taken to hospital with minor injuries after a three-car crash in Eastwood town centre, police have confirmed.

Officers were called to reports of the collision, which happened in Nottingham Road, at 3.57pm on Wednesday (September 18).

A Nottinghamshire Police spokeswoman said: "Three cars were involved and both the fire and ambulance services were also in attendance.

"A woman was taken to hospital with minor injuries that aren't thought to be life-altering or threatening.

"The road was blocked until around 7.25pm but is now clear."

Fire crews from the Eastwood and Stockhill stations were called to the scene.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service tweeted to say a woman was extricated from a vehicle and taken to hospital.

The crash was one of a number which happened on Wednesday.

A 51-year-old man died following a crash on the A610 in Eastwood involving a pedestrian and lorry.

Meanwhile, Upper Parliament Street, in the city centre, was closed for six hours after a man was hit by a bus.
