Woman warns against nail infills after treatment leaves her with gross side-effect

Getting your nails infilled is the quickest and easiest method of making your talons look fresh and brand new. Whether it's a gel manicure you prefer or acrylic, it takes less time than getting a soak off - but one woman has shared a cautionary tale about not giving your nails a 'break'.

Whilst it's certainly not advised that you remove your manicure at home yourself, it is recommended that you get a soak-off in a salon, and acrylic nail fan Pheebs aka @cleancookfun has shared why constantly skipping the soak-off process isn't recommended as she showed off her natural nails.

She captioned the video: "Feel so manky", followed by a crying with laughter face. In the short clip, Pheebs flaunts her natural nails which have a fungal infection.

Her nails don't look healthy, and there are unsightly green mould-like circles on every finger.

Over the video she wrote: "Your sign not to keep infilling and just give your nails a break."

In the comments, people were baffled at how her nails had gotten into that state, questioning where she got her nails done.

One woman blasted her nail tech, writing: "You don’t have a good nail tech. This happens when moisture gets under the acrylic. So they should have filled any cracked/split acrylic down."

Someone else offered advice: "If your set ever happens to lift again and you can't make an appointment for some reason blow dry the lifted area on cool to help prevent this!"

Another said it wasn't down to the infilling, blaming the salon, commenting: "I got this off a pedicure as well, get some treatment asap!! It's definitely the salon's fault not because you haven't had a break!"

A fourth user said: "That’s from air/dirt/ water trapped under the acrylic and then being filled overtop - who ever did the nails isn’t de-bulking properly!"

"Use tea tree oil, it works wonders", a TikToker suggested.
