Woman wants to reunite mystery couple with wedding photos found on old camera

A student who bought a second-hand camera from a market stall was amazed to find old wedding photographs on it after getting the film developed.

Megan Barnett, a first-year student at Bristol film school Screenology, wants to track down the people in the photos so she can return them.

The 20-year-old told Bristol Live she got 20 pictures developed, including holiday and baby photos in addition to the snaps from the couple's special day.

She purchased the camera from a stall at St Nicholas Market in September 2019 and thinks the pictures were taken in the early noughties.

"I bought the camera from one of the stalls at the outside market there on Saturdays," said Megan, who moved to Bristol from Devon for her studies.

"I like taking film photos and wanted something easy for everyday photos, and I thought £15 was a pretty good price for it."

A few days after buying the Canon Sure Shot AF-7, a 1994 model from the manufacturer's popular Sure Shot range, Megan noticed the film was nearly used up with space for only three photos left.

"I was really curious to find out what pictures had been taken but it was only last week when I went to get the film developed at Bristol Cameras, just down the road from where I bought the camera," she added.

"Two days later I went to pick the photos up and had no idea what I was going to find which was pretty exciting.

"A friend warned it could be something pretty nasty, so to see lovely wedding photos was really nice.

"The pictures are so light and everyone looks really happy and smiley in them. I really hope the couple are still together and that they will want these memories from the day."

Megan shared a post on her Facebook page in a bid to try and locate the people, which has been shared more than 400 times and counting, but nobody has come forward with information about them yet.
