Woman 'wants to cry' after nail salon fail - as some say she shouldn't have paid

When you walk into an appointment at a hairdresser's or a nail salon with a specific vision in mind for the service you'd like to receive, it can be disappointing when things don't quite go to plan.

But for one woman on TikTok, the nails she walked out of the salon with were nothing like the pictures she had shown her nail technician - and the job was so bad it left her fighting back tears.

Mya Balenciaga shared a video in which she showed off the stunning stiletto manicure she had been hoping to get, which featured four white nails and one that was clear with bits of confetti floating inside.

She then showed a picture of the work her technician had done, which included chunky off-white nails that were nothing like the reference picture.

And instead of an elegant clear nail on her little finger, Mya - who posts under the username @myabalenciaga - was given a glittery red nail that seemed to have been glued on in a wonky position.

She captioned her video: "I wanted to cry so bad."

Commenters on Mya's video were sympathetic toward her nail fail, but many of them questioned why she would go through with the rest of the appointment once she saw how disastrous the result was going to be.

One person said: "So you sat there and let them do that? I hope you didn't pay..."

While another added: "And you let them do that. You just sat there and let them finish."

"Please please tell me you didn’t pay for this", a third stated.

Other commenters were keen to share their thoughts on what the nails looked like, with one leaving a garlic emoji to state the design almost resembled cloves of garlic stuck to Mya's fingers.

Another person wrote: "Did you ever stick your finger in warm candle wax over and over to layer it? That’s the vibe these nails give off."

As someone else noted: "They look like jelly beans."

Giving her own commentary, Mya said they "look like acorns."
