Woman wants divorce as husband 'makes her life hell showering her with gifts'

A woman has filed for divorce from her "romantic" husband - because he loves her too much.

The unnamed woman appeared before a Sharia court in the United Arab Emirates and demanded they separate after just one year together.

She told the court: “I was choked by extreme love and affection. He even helped me clean the house.”

His agreeable nature has left her life a "hell", the Kaleej Times reported .

“I long for one day of dispute, but this seems impossible with my romantic husband who always forgave me and showered me with gifts,” she reportedly said.

“I need a real discussion, even an argument, not this hassle-free life of obedience.”

Her husband says he has done nothing wrong and simply wants to be a "perfect and kind husband"

He asked the court to advise his wife to withdraw the case.

"It's not fair to judge a marriage from the first year, and everybody learns from their mistakes", he told the court.

The court ordered the adjournment of the case to give the couple a chance at reconciliation.

The bizarre hearing came after another wife was jailed for three months  for allegedly looking at her husband's  phone  and laughing at the contents with her siblings.

The unnamed woman in the UAE was locked up for scrolling through the device while her husband slept and transferring pictures and messages to her own phone, according to reports.

She is then said to have mockingly shown the files to her siblings, much to her partner's rage.

The woman claimed she had permission to check her husband's phone ever since she caught him chatting to other women.

But  police  were called when her husband realised he had been 'taken advantage of'.
