A woman is wanted by police over a hate crime on a Merseyrail train.
Officers believe that the woman pictured in the image may have information that could help them with their investigation.
The appeal comes after two women were verbally abused on a journey between Ainsdale and Hillside in July.
According to officers, the incident happened shortly after 8pm on Thursday, July 16 and is now being treated as a hate crime.
In a statement, a spokesperson for British Transport Police said: "British Transport Police are today releasing an image following a report of a hate crime on a train between Ainsdale and Hillside stations, Merseyside.
"The incident happened at 8.12pm on Thursday 16 July.
"The suspect is reported to have been verbally abusive to two women.
"Officers would like to speak to the woman in the image who may have information that could help their investigation.
"Anyone who knows her is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40.
"In both cases, quote reference number 2000047822."
