Toddler ‘safe and sound’ with father: police

Ashby Moore | Chicago police

A 3-year-old boy who was reported abducted Thursday from West Town has been dropped off to his father and authorities are no longer searching for the babysitter who was suspected of kidnapping him.

Police were notified Friday morning that 3-year-old Ashby Moore may have been returned to his father, Chicago police said. A detective was dispatched to confirm that the boy is safe.

Police have since canceled the missing person alert that was issued for Ashby, stating that he had been “located safe and sound.”

Police said it is unclear whether the father will want to press charges against her.
