Woman walking to work pelted with eggs by two boys on bikes

A woman was walking to work when she was pelted with eggs thrown at her by two boys.

Officers were called just before 5.30pm on Thursday November 5 to a report of an incident in Barnby Gate, Newark.

The woman was walking to work when two teenage boys on push bikes threw eggs at her, hitting her on the back.

She was not injured in the attack.

Nottinghamshire Police is now appealing for information.

Neighbourhood Inspector Heather Sutton, said: “Although some people think it is fun to throw eggs, incidents like this can be really upsetting for the victims who are made to feel unsafe and intimidated. Officers conducted a search at the time and no one was found.

“This has been recorded as an assault and we are investigating to find those responsible. I would like to remind people that this sort of behaviour is not acceptable.”

Anyone who saw what happened should call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 575 of 5 November 2020.
