Woman wakes up in park with facial injuries and no idea how she got there

A woman woke up in a park with facial injuries and no recollection of how she got there.

She came to in Newsham Park, in Fairfield, Liverpool, at around 10.45am on Saturday, the Liverpool Echo reports.

Merseyside Police said the woman, in her 30s, suffered minor injuries to her face and hands.

The force added that she had 'no recollection of how she came to be' in the park and was held in hospital overnight for assessment.

She was not found have to have any serious injuries, although medical enquiries are ongoing.

Police are desperate for people to come forward with scraps of information to help them 'piece together the timeline' of what happened.

A spokesman said forensic, CCTV and witness enquiries continue to establish if any crime has taken place.

Detective Inspector Chris Smith said: “At this stage it’s unclear exactly what has happened, but if you were passing or live around the junction of Shiel Road and Penlinken Drive, and Orphan Drive, we want to hear from you as soon as possible.

“Did you see anything suspicious or capture anything on Friday night or into Saturday morning on home or business CCTV, or dashcam?

"A small detail could help us piece together the timeline of this incident, and find anyone else who may have been involved.”
