Knightswood Farmfoods attack: Woman violently pushed to ground and robbed near supermarket

A woman was pushed to the ground and robbed during a violent assault in Knightswood.

The 47-year-old was walking along Anniesland Road, near Farmfoods around 4.15pm on Monday, when she was violently pushed to the ground from behind.

A young man then snatched her mobile phone from her hand and away towards Kingsway Court.

She suffered minor injuries and contacted police.

The attacker is described as white, in his teens or early twenties and of slim build.

He was wearing a black bandana, black t-shirt, black zipped hoodie and black knee-length shorts.

Police are now asking for anyone who witness the attack to come forward.

PC Matthew McCann of the Greater Glasgow Robbery Unit said: "This was a violent and unprovoked attack in broad daylight. Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

"I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anything in the area of Anniesland Road to contact us or who has any information that could aid our enquiries to come forward.

"We would also ask anyone who was driving in the area around that time to review any dashcam footage they may have and apss on anything which could assist our enquiry.

"Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting reference number 2412 of 10 August 2020 . Alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
