A woman was robbed as she stood at a cashpoint in Fishponds.
The incident happened at the cash machine at the Post Office on Lodge Causeway at shortly before 1pm on Friday, December 11.
A woman was stood at the cashpoint when a thief stood behind her took money from her purse, which was open while she was using the machine.
Police have launched an investigation and CCTV footage is being checked.
A police spokesman said: “Enquiries are being carried out following the theft of cash belonging to a woman in Fishponds.
“The incident happened at the Post Office on Lodge Causeway shortly before 1pm on Friday 11 December.
“A man was reported to have taken money from the woman's open purse while she was using the cashpoint.
