A woman has been left extremely shaken after she was viciously mugged while walking in a quiet Dublin park.
The woman and her partner were out for a stroll in Mount Carmel Park when they were approached by a man with a hammer who demanded cash.
Despite the pair putting up a struggle, the attacker managed to flee the scene with some personal items belonging to the couple along with money.
Her partner immediately tried to chase the attacker following the incident but the horrifying mystery man managed to escape.
The woman was not injured in the attack but has been left very upset by the whole ordeal.
A spokesman for Gardai confirmed the robbery to Dublin Live and said: "A woman and man who were walking along the Dodder, were approached by a man with a claw hammer who demanded money."
He added: "A sum of cash and property was taken during the incident and investigations are ongoing.
