SAMUT PRAKAN: A woman rammed her pick-up into a roadside power post in Muang district late on Saturday night while trying to retrieve her phone. The vehicle was badly damaged, but she was left unscathed.

The accident occurred at about 11pm on Phuttharaksa road in tambon Phraeksa Mai.

Chanetti Kammanakhon, 28, told police that she was driving home along Phraksa road from the Robinson department store when she accidentally dropped her mobile phone onto the floor of the pick-up. While bending down to retrieve it, she lost control of the vehicle and it rammed into the power post.

The pick-up was damaged and was left wrapped around the post. The impact caused a transformer to drop down onto the rear bed of the pick-up.

She was not injured in the accident.

Provincial Electricity Authority officials were called to the scene to assess the damage. Ms Chanetti was charged with reckless driving and causing damage to government property.
