A woman has uncovered a hidden message under years of wallpaper.
The message, which dates back to 1968, was discovered on a wall in a house in East Lothian.
The image had many locals intrigued who tried to figure out who had written the note 55 years ago in Dunbar.
It seems this discovery was not isolated as other residents in the area reported similar notes hidden in their walls.
The note, which was found by Judy Newton read: “Papered by AS Laing, June 1968.”
Judy said she had come across the note after doing some redecorating to her home.
She wondered if there were any relatives of AS Laing in her area.
Since then, no direct relatives have come forward but the identity seems to have been confirmed.
It was thought to have been written by a painter and plasterer in Dunbar, named Alistair Lang.

The business still exists, now operating as George A Laing Renovations and Extensions.
The family business has been trading for over 60 years now.
In a similar incident, a couple discovered a note hidden in their fireplace left by the previous owner.
Kathryn Stutely, 49, and her partner Neil discovered the note after making renovations to their home in Wiltshire.
The note, which was written 52 years ago, was signed by a man named E.C. Pearce, who claimed he was 37 years old at the time of writing and had just bought the house for £3,000 on a £5-a-week mortgage, while he was earning 65p-an-hour.
The note read: "To who may be interested. This fireplace was bricked up by me on September 1971. I have just bought this house on mortgage for £3000 with a deposit of £300 and repayments of £5.50 per week + £80 solicitors fees.
"My wage at present is 65p per hour and I go to a Sunday market to make a few bob extra, aged 37 years. Hope you find this interesting. E.C. Pearce".
