Woman 'tries to stab 15-year-old with kitchen knife on London bus'

A woman allegedly attempted to stab a teenage boy with a kitchen knife on a South London Bus.

The 15-year-old boy had been travelling with his 51-year-old grandmother on a number 133 bus in Lambeth when he was attacked.

Metropolitan Police have released CCTV footage of the incident, appealing for witnesses.

The footage shows a woman approaching the victim in the standing area, producing a knife and apparently trying to stab him.

His grandmother managed to intervene and disarm the attacker, who then got off the bus and fled towards Oval.

The teenager received a minor cut to his stomach.

The suspect has been described as an Asian woman, aged between 20 and 30, wearing a 'distinctive head scarf' with a kangaroo print.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call the police on 101 or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
