Woman told to 'burn the house down' after discovering cause of broken toilet

Finding a couple of spiders in our home is enough for most of us to want to burn the whole thing to the ground.

If a daddy long-legs sends you running then you can always take comfort in the fact that in Australia their unwanted house guests are on a whole other level.

Sofie Pearson, who lives on a farm in Queensland, shared a Facebook post showing her terrifying find after noticing her toilet had become difficult to flush.

"I went to the toilet and then I went to flush it and I really had to push down on the button to get it to work, so I was a bit confused," she told 7News.

No thank you (facebook)

"So I figured I’d just pull the top off and check what the issue was."

Looking in the cistern, she quickly found the problem - four tree snakes measuring up to one metre in length.

She said: "I sort of looked at them for a second and thought... that's not right."

Sofie took out her phone to film the snakes, before calling a friend to come round and wrangle them out of the toilet for her because she "was not touching them".

The 25-year-old believes they got into her house through the cracks in her floorboards, but they were quickly removed and released unharmed into nearby fields.

Posting on Facebook, Sofie wrote: "Four… there were four… was wondering why my toilet was so hard to flush. All are alive and well."

Others commented on the post saying they would have fled immediately, and simply advised her to "burn the house down".

One person replied: "Blow the toilet up" and another said: "Hahaha! I expected one in there not four."

Maybe daddy long-legs don't seem so bad after all.
