A woman is set to stand trial for the murders of a couple and their newborn baby in a Melbourne house fire.

Jenny Hayes has pleaded not guilty to murdering 19-year-old Abbey Forrest, her partner Inda Sohal, 28, and their daughter Ivy, who was just 19 days old, at Point Cook on December 2.

Hayes, 46, also pleaded not guilty in Melbourne Magistrates Court on Monday to three counts of arson causing death.

Hayes is alleged to have deliberately set fire to the family's townhouse.

Ms Forrest and Mr Sohal moved in with their baby less than three weeks prior. Their remains were found in the ashes.

Hayes was remanded in custody to face Victoria's Supreme Court for a directions hearing on May 6.
