A woman was left 'on the side of the road' with a broken pelvis after being thrown from the back of an off-road motorbike.
The injured passenger, who had been riding on the back of the bike, was taken to hospital after she came off the rear of the vehicle on the afternoon of Monday, August 16.
Police who were called to the scene of the crash, in Skelmersdale, near Wigan, say the driver of the bike then 'fled the scene' leaving the injured woman.

But, officers say she escaped without a serious head injury because she had been wearing a helmet.
Police are using then incident as an example of the dangers of riding off-road bikes illegally on the street.
In a post on Facebook, a Lancashire Police spokesperson said: "Today Skelmersdale Police attended a road traffic collision whereby an off-road bike has lost control and a female was thrown off the rear of the bike.
"The driver of the off road bike has then fled the scene leaving an injured female on the side of the road. She has been taken to hospital with a suspected fractured pelvis.
"Thankfully the female was wearing a helmet otherwise this could have been much worse.
"This is just another example of how dangerous these bikes can be and why we do not tolerate them.
"We would like to thank all of the members of the public who assisted at the scene."
