A woman has thanked a hero off-duty nurse who came to her aid after she collapsed in Sainsbury’s.
Rosalyn O'Connor was shopping with her mum at the Urmston store on Golden Way when she suddenly became unwell.
The 23-year-old was stood by the soft drinks selection when she felt dizzy and collapsed.
Thankfully, an off-duty nurse witnessed the commotion and instantly rushed to help.
She stayed by Rosalyn’s side as she slowly came back around and called for a member of staff.
The nurse also handed her a piece of chocolate to boost her sugar levels.
While staff got Rosalyn some water, the nurse helped her into a wheelchair before she was taken to Trafford General Hospital.
Medics believe a neurological issue or low sugar levels may have led to her fainting.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News , Rosalyn, from Urmston, said: “I began feeling a little dizzy for a few seconds then began feeling energyless.
“Then I lost consciousness and collapsed to the floor.
“There was a couple stood by me, one of them was an off-duty nurse with blonde hair.
“As I came around, I was still rather weak and quite thirsty so she stayed with me and called for a member of staff.
“My mum then found out and the nurse gave me a Lindt truffle to boost my sugar levels.
“She was so caring and lovely. Nurses are amazing and so selfless.
“She didn’t have to stay with me but she did.
“It is a beautiful thing knowing that there are people out there who give so much care and compassion and expect nothing back.”
