Woman tells court how music star Solo 45 'put gun to her head' and raped her

A woman allegedly held against her will and repeatedly raped by a music star has described to a jury how he waterboarded her.

The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, said Andy Anokye, 32, also 'beat her black and blue' and held a gun to her head.

Anokye, who performs under the stage name Solo 45, is facing trial at Bristol Crown Court accused of 31 charges, which he denies.

The charges, relating to four complainants, include 22 counts of rape and five counts of false imprisonment.

He also denies two charges of assault by penetration and two charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Jurors have been told that Anokye, who had a flat in Bristol, was a member of the grime collective Boy Better Know.

Giving evidence on Thursday, in the second week of the trial at Bristol Crown Court, the woman described to the court how Anokye left her terrified after allegedly attacking her.

"It extended to water boarding and beating me black and blue," she said.

"He put a gun to my head. On other occasions he couldn't find a gun and he was onto his friends saying 'I can't find it'.

"I was scared of him and I thought I deserved everything I got," she added.

She also told the jury how she did not like going out because Anokye had left her 'covered in bruises'.

Prosecutors allege Anokye quizzed women on their sexual history and wanted to upset them. The woman told the jury that role play never played a part in her sexual encounters with the defendant.

"I was never the dominant one in our sex," she told the court. "At first I thought it was normal sex and after that I was submissive in everything he wanted to do."

Describing how Anokye quizzed her on her sex life, she said: "I didn't know whether he liked it. He would question me to make me scared and something that I was doing wrong to him.

"In my view he was questioning me to scare me, which might have turned him on."

The woman said she had never supplied Anokye with drugs but said she had used cocaine and ecstasy at parties.

Sally O'Neill QC, representing Anokye, asked: "I suggest that you introduced him to MDMA and before he met you he had never taken it."

The woman replied: "I talked to him about MDMA. I had never supplied him with MDMA.

"He did it on a separate occasion and came back and said he did it and loved it."

She added: "I never did cocaine with Andy. I did coke at raves and parties - I am not a druggy."

Prosecutors have previously told the jury that Anokye 'imprisoned, assaulted, sexually violated and raped' the four complainants in the case.

Police examining three mobile phones and a laptop found at Anokye's home after his arrest discovered searches for 'dacryphilia' - jurors have been told this is sexual arousal from another's fear.

Anokye, of Millennium Promenade, Bristol, denies all the charges against him and the trial continues.
