Woman taken to hospital following collision between a car and pedestrian

A woman has been taken to hospital following a collision between a car and a pedestrian in Newtownabbey today.

The air ambulance, ambulance service and police were called to the incident at Carnmoney Cemetery, Prince Charles Way, at around 12.20pm, which has left one woman injured.

She was treated for her injuries at the scene before being taken by ambulance to the Royal Victoria Hospital.

A Northern Ireland Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 12:20 on Wednesday 30 December following an incident at Carnmoney Cemetry involving a car and a pedestrian.

"NIAS despatched a Rapid Response Paramedic and 2 Emergency Crews to the scene. The Charity Air Ambulance with HEMS on board was also tasked to the incident.

"Following assessment and initial treatment was patient was transported by ambulance to Royal Victoria Hospital."

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Police received a report of a one vehicle road traffic collision, which occurred at the Prince Charles Way area of Newtownabbey this afternoon (Wednesday 30th December).

"One woman was taken to hospital for her injuries."
