Woman taken to hospital following attack in Leigh

A woman has been taken to hospital following an attack in Leigh.

Police were called to the assault on Henrietta Street by the ambulance service.

A woman was taken to hospital.

Police said her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

An investigation is underway.

No arrests have been made.

A statement released by Greater Manchester Police read: "At 6pm on Tuesday, May 19, 2020, police were called by the ambulance service responding to reports of an assault on Henrietta Street, Leigh.

"Officers attended and a woman was taken to hospital. Her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

"An investigation is underway.

"No arrests have been made."

A spokeswoman for the North West Ambulance Service said: "We were called to a police incident at 5.57pm yesterday.

"We attended with an ambulance, rapid response vehicle and an advanced paramedic and took a patient to hospital."
