Woman taken to hospital after two vehicle crash at crossroads in County Durham

A woman in her 30s has been taken to hospital after a collision in County Durham.

Durham Constabulary were called to reports of a collision involving a white Rover Evoque and a Toyota Rav4 at Sacriston crossroads shortly before 7am on Tuesday morning.

Officers closed the road while emergency services attended the scene.

A woman in her 30s, who was the driver of the Range Rover, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The police have confirmed that the road reopened at around 8.30am and an investigation into the crash is ongoing.

A spokesperson from Durham Constabulary said: "Police were called to reports of a two vehicle collision at Sacriston crossroads shortly before 7am this morning.

"It involved a white Range Rover Evoque and a Toyota Rav4.

"The driver of the Range Rover, a woman in her 30s, was taken to hospital with injuries.

"The road has now reopened."
