Woman taken to hospital after three assaulted in Belfast

A woman has been taken to hospital after three people were reportedly assaulted in North Belfast on Friday.

Detectives have launched an investigation following the incident, with police receiving reports at 12.40pm that a woman and two men had been assaulted in the Annesley Street area, close to the Crumlin Road.

Following the alleged assault the woman was taken to hospital for treatment to her injuries.

Police say their enquiries are ongoing and are asking anyone who may have any information regarding the incident to contact them on non-emergency number 101.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Detectives are investigating an incident in the Annesley Street area of North Belfast this afternoon (Friday, March 5).

"It was reported to police around 12.40 pm that a woman and two men had been assaulted. The woman was taken to hospital for treatment of her injuries.

"Enquiries are continuing and anyone with any information is encouraged to contact police on 101 quoting reference 759 of 05/03/21.

"An online report can be submitted using the non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/ or by contacting Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
