Woman taken to hospital after emergency services called to reports of an 'electrocution'

A woman has been taken to hospital after emergency services were called to a report of an 'electrocution' in north Manchester.

Fire crews, paramedics and police officers attended at the incident on Bury Old Road in Cheetham Hill just after 6pm tonight (Wednesday).

They were called to reports that someone had been electrocuted, a spokesperson for the fire service said.

A woman was taken to North Manchester General Hospital from the scene.

It has not been confirmed at this stage how serious her injuries are.

Pictures taken on Bury Old Road this evening show two fire engines stationed near a block of flats on Seymour Road.

A police van was also pictured at the scene.

In a statement, a Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We called to reports of an electrocution on Bury Old Road at 6.03pm.

"We were called by the ambulance service to offer support on the scene.

"Paramedics have taken a woman to North Manchester General Hospital.

"We were on scene for about an hour."
