Woman taken to hospital after emergency services called to Arthur's Seat

A 25-year-old woman was taken to hospital after emergency services were called to Arthur's Seat on Tuesday evening.

Police and ambulance crews rushed to the scene at around 9.45pm after concerns were expressed to them about the female.

Passers-by reported seeing "lots of police, fire and ambulance" personnel in Holyrood Park at the time.

The woman was safely recovered a short time later and taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary as a precaution.

 A police spokesperson said: "Police in Edinburgh received a call at around 9.45pm on Tuesday 13th August in relation to concern for a woman on Arthur's Seat.

"The 25-year-old was safely recovered and taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh as a precaution.

"No further police action was required."
