Woman taken to hospital after emergency crews descend on quiet Weston-super-Mare road

A woman has been taken to hospital after emergency crews descended on a quiet road in Weston-super-Mare.

Police, paramedics, firefighters and an air ambulance attended an incident on Walliscote Road, at around 3.30pm on Monday (July 6).

A spokesman from Avon and Somerset police confirmed a 'woman fell' from a property on the road.

He said: “The incident is not believed to be suspicious.”

No update has been given on the woman's injuries or condition.

The route was closed for a number of hours while crews dealt with the incident.

An Avon Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "We were called at 3:32pm to assist with police.

"Two crews from Weston attended. A female casualty was conveyed to hospital."
