Woman taken to hospital after crash in Ramsbottom town centre

A woman has been taken to hospital after a crash in Ramsbottom town centre.

Emergency services were called to the smash in Bolton Street shortly after 6.20am this morning (Monday, February 1.)

The incident involved two vehicles.

Police, fire engines and an ambulance were spotted at the scene.

The woman, who is in her 60s, was taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries to her back.

The incident resulted in queues of traffic building up around Ramsbottom town centre this morning.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "Officers were called just after 6.20am this morning to a report of a road traffic collision on Bolton Road West, Ramsbottom, involving two vehicles.

"Emergency services attended.

"One person with minor injuries and taken to hospital."

A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service added: "We attended with a rapid response vehicle, an advanced paramedic and an ambulance.

"We’ve taken a woman in her 60s to hospital, suffering back injuries."
