Woman taken to hospital after crash in north Manchester

A woman was taken to hospital following a crash in north Manchester.

Two cars were involved in the smash on Harpurhey Road in Harpurhey shortly after 4pm on Thursday evening.

Police, paramedics and fire crews all attended the scene.

And a woman was taken to hospital the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) confirmed.

A spokeswoman said: "We received a call at 16.10 to Harpurhey Road for a two car RTC in which an ambulance and rapid response vehicle attended and the ambulance crew transported a female patient with minor injuries to North Manchester General hospital."

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “Just after 4.10pm on Thursday 26 August, firefighters were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on Harpurhey Road, Manchester.

“Two fire engines from Manchester Central and Philips Park, and the Technical Response Unit from Ashton-under-Lyne arrived quickly at the scene.

"Firefighters assisted colleagues from Greater Manchester Police and North West Ambulance Service to make the scene safe. Crews were in attendance for around 30 minutes.”
