Woman taken to hospital after crash between lorry and car near McDonald's

A woman was taken to hospital after a car crash near a retail park in St Helens.

Emergency services were called to Chalon Way West at around 11.35am today ( Tuesday) following reports of a crash involving a lorry and Ford Fiesta.

The accident happened near a McDonald's.

A spokesperson for the ambulance service confirmed a woman in her 70s was taken to Whiston hospital.

Her condition is not yet known but it is understood she was taken to hospital as a precaution

Merseyside Police confirmed they attended the scene and appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

No arrests were made.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Both drivers stopped at the scene. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 0151 777 5747, 101 or @MerPolCC with ref. 344 of 8/12/20."
