Woman taken to hospital after car hits stone wall in Pontypridd

A woman is in hospital after her car hit a stone wall in Pontypridd.

She was the 50-year-old driver of a grey Nissan Micra that crashed on Penycoedcae Road, Pen Y Coedcae, at around 12.30am on Friday (April 17).

Police said the woman from Talbot Green was taken by ambulance to the University Hospital of Wales for be treated for her injuries. Her condition is not yet known.

A spokesman for South Wales Police said they want to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, who stopped to provide assistance or anyone who may have seen car before the crash and who have not yet given their details.

The road was closed for a short period of time whilst police carried out initial investigations.

The spokesman added: "We would like to thank the public affected by the closure for their patience and understanding."
