Woman taken to hospital after being knocked down on busy Glasgow road

A woman has been taken to hospital after being knocked down on a Glasgow road tonight.

Emergency services were called to Great Western Road, the A82, just before 8pm on Saturday, December 5.

The smash took place in the Drumchapel area where the road meets the junction with Garscadden Road, close to the old Garscadden Police Station.

As a result of the incident a section of the road has been closed while Police Scotland investigate.

It is not known the condition of the woman who was taken to a city hospital.

Cops have launched a probe following the incident.

A  Police Scotland spokesperson told our sister title, Glasgow Live said: “Around 7:45pm on Saturday 5 December 2020, the police and ambulance services attended a report of a female having been knocked down on  Great Western Road  in Glasgow near to the junction with Garscadden Road.

“The female was taken to hospital and there is no update regarding her injuries at the time.

"The road is currently closed as part of the police investigation. And local diversions are in place."
