A woman in her 20s has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Cardiff.

Cathays Terrace was closed for an hour as police investigated the crash that happened on Wednesday morning.

Police and ambulance were called to the scene in Cathays around 9.45am.

A spokeswoman for South Wales Police said that the driver stopped at the scene and no arrests were made.

The Welsh Ambulance Trust said they were called to reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian.
